2018 is right around the corner but before we jump into a new year, let’s look back at some of the top moments from 2017!

1. The Fancy Dress was off the charts at all stops along the series!

2. Fiji topped the list for most tries, most points scored and most conversions for the 2016-17 series! 

3. South Africa wins 2016-17 World Rugby Sevens Series for the 3rd time in history! 

4. Canada standouts, John Moonlight and Ghislaine Landry both scored their 100th try during the 2017 series! Moonlight scored his winning try at London Sevens and Landry scored hers at Clermont Sevens. 

5. The Canada Women’s Sevens squad claimed a spot on the podium at five out of the six tour stops, claiming one gold, two silvers and two bronze medals. 

6. Over 2 days, Canada Sevens saw more than 76,000 fans at BC Place, making 2017 the best year yet! Thank you, thank you, thank you to the best fans in the business!

7. Our favourite moment of the year: Canada was the only country to have both a men’s and women’s squad win a tour stop! The men’s squad took home their first ever cup win at Singapore 7s and the women claimed the top spot at Sydney 7s! 

8. BONUS: Our fans came hungry to BC Place! There were over 32,109 chicken strips eaten during Canada Sevens!
