VANCOUVER, B.C.– Rugby Canada kicked off the Canada Sevens weekend by hosting, in partnership with BC Rugby and HSBC Canada Sevens, the HSBC Rookie Rugby Festival at Trillium Park Stadium in Vancouver, B.C. on Friday April 15th.

The event saw more than 200 kids participate in a variety of games and activities, all with the hope of inspiring the next generation of rugby athletes in Canada. Those who attended the two-hour session in downtown Vancouver got to play along side HSBC Ambassadors Nathan Hirayama and Ghislaine Landry as well as other current and former Canada Sevens National team players. After the festival activities concluded, participants got the chance to have a meet and greet with the national team players before heading down to BC Place Stadium.

Once the kids arrived at the stadium they had the opportunity to watch the final practice for Canada’s senior men’s 7s team as they prepared for the HSBC Canada Sevens tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

The Vancouver event is the sixth stop on the 2022 World Rugby HSBC Sevens series tour.
