The core team in overall event delivery, Operations are responsible for ensuring the event is running smoothly back of house. This role will keep volunteers busy as they support all event functional areas – teams, partnerships, activations, fan experience, accreditation, etc. Providing exposure to the ‘behind the scenes’ at a major international sporting event, Operations volunteers will be at the heart of it at all times. We are looking for hardworking, active, adaptive and problem-solving individuals to join this team!
Team Services are responsible for ensuring the competing rugby sevens players; staff and liaisons are supported for their match day operations. Assisting with re-supplying water and isotonics, replenishing towels, refilling ice baths/re-stocking ice, re-setting changing rooms and transporting players / equipment between changing rooms and their team bus are a few of the responsibilities. We are looking for personable individuals, who work well in a team, with can-do attitude and who act professionally around elite level athletes.
Hospitality areas play host to global + local partners, VIP clients and their guests, to ensure they enjoy a high-class rugby experience over the two days. We are looking for personable individuals who have excellent customer service skills with previous experience working in the hospitality industry.
Volunteers working in Accreditation will be responsible for distributing tournament identification, welcoming national and international media (photographers, journalists etc) and directing them to work spaces in the stadium. We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and well-organized team members to join our Accreditation team.
As a Media volunteer you will be a key conduit in the sharing and transfer of important information between national / international media, Canada Sevens and World Rugby staff stationed in the media booth. Working alongside our Media Box Coordinator you will be required to assist with all functions related to running a media booth – distributing media materials, ensuring game stats are distributed prior to each match (occurring every 20 minutes), managing photographer work station, providing direction to the mixed zone etc. We are looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic, strong communicators, with a professional work attitude and an interest in media operations.
A busy and active role, Stat Runners will need to be physically up to the challenge! Stat runners will be responsible for delivering match statistics from World Rugby’s stat team, to all important Canada Sevens groups – broadcast, media, referees and Canada Sevens staff. With 45 matches, 12 teams and matches kicking off every 22 minutes, stats will need to be delivered on a timely basis. We are looking for fit, active and energetic individuals.
The official tournament program contains all of the important information and interesting facts about the teams and the event. We need enthusiastic, friendly people, who are good at sales and happy handling money.
Assisting our ticketing team with the selling of event tickets and organizing the distribution of Will Call tickets. We are looking for individuals who offer great customer service and are comfortable handling money.
Assisting in the official Rugby Canada merchandise trailer – we need personable people who are passionate about Rugby Canada, enjoy dealing with customers face to face and are good at selling. Retail experience considered an asset.
Responsible for ensuring fans are happy and having a positive experience at the event. Duties include ushering fans to the correct seating section and seats, answering questions, providing direction and guidance. We need people who are energetic, friendly and have excellent customer service skills.
